Our Partners
We are committed to reducing waste and minimizing our environmental impact by incorporating ECONYL® regenerated yarn in our accessory collection.
1. Waste Rescue
The process starts with collecting discarded materials such as fishing nets, carpet flooring, and industrial plastic from around the world.
2. Material Remaking
The collected waste is carefully sorted and cleaned to extract nylon, which is then transformed into yarns and polymers.
3. Creative Redesign
Our products are meticulously handcrafted in Italy using 100% regenerated nylon, offering the potential for endless recycling without compromising quality.
4. Return and Repair
At the end of its lifecycle, you can return your bag for repair. Our skilled Italian artisans provide repair services, ensuring that each product receives the utmost care and attention.
Sponsors of Healthy Seas
Our brand, AOIFE®, is on a mission to breathe new life into waste and pollution, turning them into sustainable products that can be worn with pride. From the very beginning of our production process, we are dedicated to making environmentally responsible choices that minimize our impact on the planet. We have joined hands with international collaborators, such as Healthy Seas and various European Ghost Diving groups, to combat the alarming issue of ghost fishing, which causes unnecessary harm to marine life. Our ultimate goal is to rid the oceans of waste, one fishing net at a time.
The story of our brand spans across continents, involving the dedicated AOIFE® team in Ireland, as well as 950 fishers and fish farmers in partnership with us. Together with Healthy Seas in Italy, ghost diving groups scattered throughout Europe, and the engagement of 381 children in educational programs, we have collected a whopping 75,000kg of fishing nets in sometimes difficult sea conditions, thanks to the help of over 200 volunteers. To date, we have ordered a staggering 585 tons of fishing nets, which is equivalent to the weight of 5 blue whales, in response to the pressing global issue of abandoned fishing gear in our oceans, as highlighted in reports by UNEP and FAO.
At AOIFE®, we are committed to offering a solution that is not only sustainable but also scalable. We work alongside partners to recycle materials and purify water. We believe that through innovative design solutions, we can inspire individuals to adopt more sustainable lifestyles, paving the way for reduced environmental impacts and an overall improvement in well-being. Our dedication to supporting a circular economy aligns with the UN's sustainable development goals (SDGs).
